A seminar entitled IUT-ACF Seminar on Sustainability of Concrete has been organized by Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in association with Asian Concrete Federation (ACF) at Islamic University of Technology, Board Bazar, Gazipur on last Monday.
More than 200 engineers/architects from different government and private organizations joined this seminar.
As concrete industries release about 10% of global CO2 emission, therefore, this industry must take a vital role to reduce CO2 emission by recycling of concrete, ensuring durability of concrete, and utilization of mineral admixtures with cement.
It will also eventually help toward achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of United Nations (UN).
Prof Dr Munaz Ahmed Noor, Vice-Chancellor, IUT; Prof Dr Md. Tarek Uddin, Professor, IUT; Prof Koji Sakai, Representative, Japan Sustainability Institute; Prof Takafumi Noguchi, Professor, University of Tokyo; Prof Donguk Choi, Hankyong National University, South Korea delivered lectures in this seminar.
