Speakers at a seminar said, real estate graduates have immense employment opportunity in banking sector as real estate and housing sector is one of the main drivers of national economic development and industrialization. Real estate graduates can play an important role while selecting projects regarding housing, commercial complex, construction of residential / commercial buildings for loan allocation.
The real estate and housing sector is contributing 12 percent to 15 percent to the national GDP and annual turnover is about 250 billion (BDT). 25, 000-30,000 posts are still vacant in Bangladesh in this sector. So the graduates of this department get employment just after completion the graduations. They said these while speaking at the seminar on “Career opportunities for Real Estate Graduates in the Banking Sector” held today at Daffodil International University.
Department of Real Estate Department of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized the seminar at DIU Auditorium. Md. Hasan Iqbal, Deputy Managing Director, Janata Bank Ltd. was present in the seminar as chief guest while Md. Kabir Hossain, Executive Vice President and Head of Zone and Shakib Lohani, Managing Director, Wellhomes Holdings Limited were present as especial guests. Prof Dr Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor, DIU was present as the guest of honor. Prof Rafiqul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics of DIU presided over the seminar.
The seminar was also addressed by Dr Mostafa Kamal, Adviser and Sheikh Abdur Rahim, Assiciate Professor and Head, Prof Dr Zahid Hossain Prodhan, Adjunct Professor and Al Safayat, Alumnus of Department of Real Estate of DIU.
Addressing as the chief guest, Hassan Iqbal said, a good thinking is a good seeds. A man can change the country; change the city with real estate profession. Honesty, hard work, directions, strategy can change the real estate sector. As a real estate professional a person should dealings customers with honesty, commitment and sincerity because when people trust him then they will provide the responsibility to build the house where that family will leave.
So real estate personnel play a vital role to build the house properly. He also said in this sector there are lots of opportunities to explore the career.
DIU students have the opportunity to do the internship and employment in different banking and Financial Institutions, he added. He urged the students to up hold humanities and social values in their real life situation and try to contribute to mitigate the problems with innovative ideas and serve the nation acquiring proper education.
