Industry Department of Nutrition and Food Engineering of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a open seminar on “Prospects of graduates in Nutrition and Food Engineering in the ever expanding food processing institutes of Bangladesh” at DIU Auditorium on last Thursday.
Prof Dr M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of DIU was present as the chief guest in the seminar. Prof Dr M Golam Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Daffodil DIU and S M Momtajul Islam, Head of Sales, Igloo Foods Ltd. of Abdul Monem Group were present as the special guests.
Prof Dr Ahmad Ismail Mostafa, Dean Faculty of Allied Health Sciences presided over the seminar while Prof Dr Nazma Shaheen of Institute of Nutrition & Food Science of University of Dhaka delivered the keynote paper.
Speakers in the seminar have opined that Food Adulteration is a huge problem due to lack of proper preservation facilitates and Food industries and underscored the need for expansions food industry to preserve surplus production during the monsoon and create more graduates in Nutrition and Food Engineering to ensure food security. They emphasized on food fortification and controlling food adulteration.
