Seminar on ‘Int’l Flight Safety’ begins in city

A three-day seminar on ‘International Flight Safety’ began on Monday at Falcon Hall, Tejgaon in the city.
Bangladesh Air Force and Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) organised the event.
Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Abu Esrar inaugurated the seminar as the chief guest. The theme of the seminar is “Safety is not only risk management it is a Mindset”, said a press release.
The aim of the seminar is to bridge the perspective on flight safety challenges of both civil and military community as the airspace is used jointly.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief of Air Staff expressed his heartiest appreciations to all involved organisations for their continued efforts in promoting professional excellence through organising such an international seminar.
He applauded the objective of the seminar to create opportunity for sharing experiences within military and civil organisations to enhance flight safety.
He also expressed that flight safety was not a business of Air Forces only and every aviation related organisation could be greatly benefitted from the concepts and practices of safety culture.
Military representatives from China, France, India, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Oman, Bahrain, Kenya, Maldives, Nepal, Russia and Bangladesh are taking part in the seminar.
Representatives from Ministry of Defence, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Armed Forces Division (AFD), Bangladesh Police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Coastguard, Biman Bangladesh Airlines Ltd, different flying clubs, Padma Oil Company, MIST, BUP, Senakalyan Sanstha and other civil airlines of Bangladesh participated in the seminar.
