A PhD seminar titled ‘Dower: A Safeguard of Conjugal Life of a Wife Perspective’ was held at Islamic University (IU), Kushtia on Saturday.
The occasion was held at Law Faculty seminar room of Mir Mosharrof Hossain academic building of the university around 11:30am.
IU Law department Assistant Professor Maksuda Akter presented his article under supervisor Sylhet Metropolitan University dean Professor Dr M Rabiul Hossain.
PhD Fellow Maksuda Akter explained in his article- safeguard of conjugal life of a wife according to Muslim Family Laws Ordinance of 1961: Shariah Law Approach.
IU treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha addressed here as the chief guest while Professor Dr M Johurul Islam and its Associate Professor Dr Abdul Karim were present here as the discussant with Law department chairman Prof Dr Nurun Nahar in the Chair.
Prof Dr Shahjahan Mondol, Prof Dr Halima Khatun, Prof Dr Akram Hossain Mojumdar, Prof Dr Khandakar Touhidul Anam of Law department, Prof Dr Mahbubar Rahman of Electrical and Electronic Engineering department, Prof Dr M Rezwanul Islam of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering department, Prof DR Debashish Sharma and f Prof Dr M Yakub Ali of Al-Quran and Islamic Studies department took part here, among others, while Law Faculty Dean Prof Dr Reba Modol attended here as special guest.
