Cardiff International School Dhaka (CISD) has organised a seminar on `Adolescent Behaviour’ at its auditorium in the city on Saterday. Parents, mentors and professionals took part in the seminar with intensity, precision and tremendous enthusiasm.
The Principal Head of School of CISD, GM Nizam Uddin, cordially welcomes the facilitators of the seminar as well as the participants. In his welcome speech, the principal says, “Everyday we face lots of challenges while dealing with the young people. This seminar will help us to solve our problem positively while dealing with the adolescents.”
Eminent psychologist and consultant to Sajida Foundation and Brac Education Centre, Farida Akhter, in her presentation, highlighted efficiently the psycho-social issues of adolescents.
In her presentation Farida Akhter exposes the different socio-emotional areas of adolescents such as: identity crisis, abusive use of technolgy, peer pressure and drug addiction, expression of feelings by actions than words, importance of close friendship and other factors.
Jesmin Pervin Jui, Trainer and Khondoker Tahmina Tonni, psycho-social counselor of Sajida Foundation conducted a session on different case studies related to adolescent behaviour and the participants actively joined this session highlighting and discussing different ways of handling adolescents in different situations and parents as well as teachers should consider while dealing with the young people.
Later, some vital tips for supporting the adolescents were given to the participants, which would ensure a healthy and happy life for the adolescents. The participants expressed deep satisfaction over participating in the seminar and appreciated highly about the timely initiative of Cardiff.
