Security intensified in country’s prions following militant’s threat

Inspector General of Prisons Brig Gen AKM Mostafa Kamal Pasha has ordered to intensify security at all jails across the country following a recent threat to snatch away militants.
At the same time, he instructed the jail authorities to keep strict vigil on the movement of the militants, top terrorists and other inmates who are accused in BDR carnage case and other sensational cases.
The IG (Prisons) sent letters to the jail authorities in the regard on Sunday.
In the letter, he gave 18-point instructions to avoid possible risk, reports a Bangla news portal.
He also mentioned that some terrorists sending letters threatened to snatch away militants from the jails. They even made phone calls.
The instructions included forming a striking force at every jail consists of a deputy jailer,a chief prison guard and five guards, ensuring bullet proof jackets and helmets for those guard outside gate before searching the visitors with metal detectors, recruiting sentry and ensuring security of arms and armoury.
Besides, organising exercise so that arms and ammunition can be collected quickly in necessity, checking and preparing the prison’s alarm system keeping the boundary protected, keeping strong vigil on movement of the militants, top terrorists and accused in BDR carnage case and other sensational cases.
The IG prisons also instructed to keep constant contact with the police administration of those areas where militants are in prison.
