Police remained alert yesterday in the city areas following the announcement of appeal verdict of war crime Delwar Hossain Saidee aimed at to face any nuisances .
Additional police forces and BGB members have been deployed in the city. Metro police sources said no untoward incidents occurred following the verdict on Saidee for life imprisonment till death in jail instead of hanging. Police forces searched the pedestrians on road if suspected .
Meanwhile, Chhatra Shibir instantly after announcement of verdict yesterday morning, brought out protest procession in Muradpur in city and tried to vandalise the vehicles but police opposed them. Panchalaish thana police confirmed the bringing of procession by Shibirmen . On the other hand, Ganojagaron Mancha , Chittagong unit staged demonstration at cheragi pahar crossing yesterday morning over the managed verdict of war crime Delwar Hossain Saidee.
