Seasonal cake business gains momentum in Narsingdi

Hundreds of poor men and women are living after selling different kinds of cakes locally called as pithas like vapa and chital.
 A number of pitha lovers are eating the hot making cakes hindering shiver with cold in the district.
Pitha business are going on in full swing in the morning, evening and even afternoon in the town as the sellers are being happy due to their selling target and reach of goal income, it is observed.
The six upazilas of the district are as Sadar, Raipura, polash, Monohordi, Shibpur and Belabo.
Narsingdi head quarters specially in the town roadside pitha shops are a common scenario are as velanagar, old bus stand, upazila more, Battola, Narsingdi railway station area, Basail rail gate, Bralmmondi, Naton Bazar, Bowakur turning point and Bazirmore areas, Birpur, Sangita, Daspara, Tawadi and scattered paints of municipal and outside areas are seen different kinds of attractive pithas reminding the traditional culture of Bangladeshi people which evidence sales of winter pithas go on from sun rising till late high.
The peoples are already waiting for selling, making and eating tasty pithas at home or roadside guttering as a traditional culture which makes the winter season enjoyable. The housewives also get invest with life to make and serve cake to their dearest and nearest households and relatives in this season. the house wives in both rural and urban area prepare various kinds of pithas like vapa pitha, puli, chital, Dhud chitol, pati septa, Teler pitha, panchu pitha etc.
The pitha lovers know that different cake varies in taste and quality. In everywhere all people, specially children, eagerly wait for savoring the taste of cakes on winter morning and evening. However the necessary of pitha making elements is being costly, chausses decreasing the tradition of making delicious pithas in rural areas while commercially made pithas are gradually replacing home-made ones, At present town footpath is seen the fire stop for pedestrian in this winter season.
The common people know that every winters the venders make various types of cakes by the roadside, But the venders specially make only a few item like vapa or chital on the footpath.
One pitha vendor Jalaluddin of Narsingdi town told this correspondent that he khows town to wake a lot of pitha variety like dudh chitol, dudh puli, jhal bou, calkata puli, jamai pitha, kala bora, patisepta, molpoa, bhapa pitha, shahi puli, ful pitha, nakshi pitha, chicken pitha etc.
Another poor seller Abul kalam of Baniasol under Narsingdi powrashava said that he earns at least an amount of Taka 600 to 700 daily by selling the pithas by his own hand. He makes kola bora, patishepta, shali puli, surjomukhi, chicken pitha, jhal clingri pitha and vapa at taka 5 to 10 per piece daily.
