Incidents of several chase , counter chase and scuffle in between rival groups of AL-supported and BNP-Jamaat supported lawyers of Chittagong occurred at Chittagong court premises yesterday morning centring the participation in trial proceedings of the courts during hartal period as called by 20-party alliance across the country.
Tense situation has been prevailing in the court hill centring the rivalry in between the two factions of the District Lawyers association. Eye witnesses sources said a procession led by BNP-Jamaat supporters lawyers took possession in main gate of the court at about 10 am and after 15 minutes , another procession led by ruling party backed lawyers stormed in same venue which resulted scuffle between them and chase, counter chase occurred .
Asstt police commissioner of CMP(Prosecution) Nirmalendu Bikash admitted the fact of chase , counter chase , scuffle between two groups but no untoward incidents were occured and the whole situation now under control of the law enforcers.
