‘Science-minded youths can take country forward’

Speakers at a function laid stress on enlightening the youths with science based education as science-minded people can take the country forward.
The opinion came in the inaugural session of a daylong inter-school science fair- 2017 on Kakonhat High School premises in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi on Saturday.
Center for Capacity Building of Voluntary Organization (CCBVO) and Bangladesh Freedom Foundation (BFF) jointly organized the fair.
The aim of the fair was to encourage the young scientists with flourishing their innovative latent talents and building a science minded nation.
Science Education Development in Secondary Schools Project supported the fair. “To build science-minded atmosphere: Technology is only the way of progress” was the slogan of the fair.
More than 5,000 students from 43 science clubs took part in the fair showcasing their scientific and ICT innovations.
Local lawmaker Omor Faruque Chowdhury and Kakonhat Pourasava Mayor Abdul Mazid addressed the session as chief and special guests respectively with Imtiaj Ahmed, president of Research Science Club, in the chair.
Former vice-principal of Rajshahi Teachers Training College Professor Abdus Samad Mondal, former registrar of Rajshahi University Professor Abdus Salam, CCBVO Executive Chief Sarwar-E-Kamal and its Project Coordinator Nirabul Islam and Union Parishad Chairman Shahidul Islam also spoke.
