Schools are yet to return excess fees

Denying the direction of the district administration, many of schools of Chittagong are yet to return the excess fees.
Guardians of the SSC examinees have counted about two to three times higher for fill up the forms of SSC examination in 2017.
Earlier, on January 18, the district administration of Chittagong directed to return the excess money within next 10 days which was taken by the schools in name of admission of classes in the port city. The direction was forwarded by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Habibur Rahman after held a meeting with the headmasters and authorities of the schools in the port city.
In the meeting, district administration of Chittagong discussed the matter with the concerned persons of the schools.
The headmasters of the schools are urged to return the excess money which was taken by the schools for admission and form fill up within next 10 days as this is the clear violating of the government rules.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Habibur Rahman said, “We have directed to return the excess money which was taken by the schools for admission of classes within next 10 days. The district administration and concerned authorities will take action against the schools after 10 days.”
“There is no option to take more money violating the government rule. So, the schools which collected excess money by the name of admission and development of the school, they have to return the excess money within next 10 days,” he added.
Among others, School Inspector of Chittagong Education Board Abul Monsur Bhuyan, Secondary Education Officer Hosne Ara, Education Officer of Chittagong City Corporation Mohammed Saifur Rahman, President of Consumer Association of Chittagong M Najer Hossain, Jesmin Sultana Paru, Representative of Chittagong Cantonment School and College Mohammed Shafiqur Rahman Tarafdar, Head Master of Pathorghata School Mohammed Shafiqur Rahman Sikdar, Principal of J M Sen School and College Mohammed Jahurul Islam, Principal of BAF Shaheen College Mohammed Serajul Haque Bhuyan, Chairman of Meron Sun School and College Morshed Hossain and headmasters of the schools participated the meeting and ensured to the administration to return the excess money. Though the scheduled time has ended, many of the schools are yet to return the access fees which were taken by them during the admission and some schools are still taking monthly fees from the students.
