UNB, Jhenidah :
A schoolboy was shot to death by miscreants at Baghadanga in Khoshalpur border area of Maheshpur upazila on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Hasan,17, student of class IX and son of Jahangir Hossain, a resident of Bakoshpota village of the same upazila.
Yusuf Ali, uncle of the deceased, said local people of the border area spotted the body of Hasan lying in the area at about 8:30 pm and brought it to their house.
Hasan’s family members claimed that the members of Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire on Hasan while he was going to the border area at night, leaving him dead on the spot.
Superintendent of police Altaf Hossain suspected that Hasan might have been killed by BSF members.
