Police recovered the body of a schoolboy from Ratanpur village in Faridpur upazila on Sunday noon.
The deceased was identified as Sojib Hossain,12, a class VI student of Demra High School and son of Afaz Ali, a resident of the same village.
Police and locals said a group of young men called Sajib out of the house at about 8:00pm on Saturday and since then, he had not returned.
Saiful Islam, officer-in-charge of Faridpur Police Station, said local people spotted the body of Sojib under a flood control dam in the area at about 12noon on Sunday and informed police.
Later, police recovered the body that bore several injury marks and sent it to Pabna General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Sojib might have been killed some time on Saturday night, the OC added.
