The throat-slit body of a schoolboy was found at Mankia village in Benapole early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Omar Faruk, 15, a class X student of a high school and son of Haider Ali of Sarbanhuda village.
Azgar Ali, maternal uncle of the victim, said Faruk remained missing since he went out of his house on Monday night.
On Tuesday morning, local people spotted the body of Faruk at a paddy filed and informed police.
Apurba Hasan, officer-in-charge of Benapole Port Police Station, said police recovered the body and sent it to Jessore Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The motive behind the killing could not be known immediately, said OC.
