A schoolgirl was stabbed to death reportedly by a stalker at her school in Sutrapur of Kaliakoir upazila in Gazipur district on Tuesday afternoon after rejecting the proposal of love.
The victim was identified as Kabita Das, 15, a class X student of Bijoy Sarani High School. She is daughter of Sagor Moni, a resident of Gojaria village in the upazila, said Rafiqul Islam, Officer-in Charge (Investigation) Kaliakoir Police Station.
Following the incident, locals captured the killer, Bikram Chandra Das, and handed him over to the police. Bikram Sarker is a BBA student of Gono University in Savar.
Quoting the locals, the Police official said, “Kabita was entering her school for test examination around 1:30pm, Bikram appeared there and stabbed her, leaving her critically injured. She was taken to Kaliakoir Sadar Health Complex where doctors declared her dead.”
Bikram used to stalk Kabita on her way to School. Recently, Kabita refused his affair proposal, the OC said.
The killer was being interrogated in this connection, he said. Police are investigating the matter, the police official said. The body had been sent to the Gazipur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, her said.
