School boy Arif was killed for preventing robbing an autorickshaw: CID

Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested two persons in connection with the murder of Arif Hossain (14), a school student in Domar, Nilphamari.
They were arrested from Ashulia police station area of Savar early on Tuesday (September 27).
The arrested are identified as Md. Kahinur Islam alias Rubel (40) and Md. Alamgir Hossain alias Alam (40).
According to the CID, on August 19, schoolboy Arif went out with his father’s autorickshaw. Rubel and Alam both got into the autorickshaw as passengers and killed Arif to steal the autorickshaw.
Confirming the matter, CID Special Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mukta Dhar said that Arif, a class VIII student, went missing on August 19. Then the body of missing Arif was found on August 26.
 Two persons were arrested following the investigation of the Clueless murder. Based on the preliminary interrogation of the arrested, CID officials said that on August 19, at around 9 o’clock in the night, two people, including Rubel, boarded Arif’s auto-rickshaw as passengers.
After traveling around to a secluded place, they asked Arif to stop the auto-rickshaw, telling him to respond to the call of nature. When the rickshaw stopped, Rubel and his accomplices dragged Arif down and tried to escape with the auto rickshaw. When Arif stopped them, they started beating him. At one point, they stabbed Arif to death and escaped by covering him with dry pepper plants. Later, Rubel sold the stolen autorickshaw to one of his relatives for Tk 45,000.
