School authorities join fight against Dengue

As the dengue outbreak is getting worse in the country, school authorities in Dhaka stepped up efforts to control Aedes mosquito with a view to protect students from dengue infection.
Dhaka has been identified as a hotspot of Aedes breeding grounds, with hospitals

overwhelmed by rising number of dengue infected patients.
School authorities are applying mosquito repellent spray on the campus to wipe out mosquito breeding sites. Students have been asked to wear full sleeve dresses to protect them from mosquito bites.
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has also opened temporary health camps at various city schools for conducting health check-up of the students as well as local people.
DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon earlier distributed mosquito repellant sprays to 32 schools in the capital to wipe out mosquitoes from the educational institutions.
