A program to distribute cheques and certificates among students under Municipal Scholarship Program was held on Friday where five renowned personalities were honored. The ceremony was organized at the Lions School and College premises on behalf of Saidpur Municipality.
Vice-Chancellor of Rangpur Begum Rokeya University Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah was the chief guest. Nilphamari District Council Chairman, Great Freedom Fighter Joynal Abedin, Saidpur Upazila Parishad Chairman Moksedul Momin, Associate Professor of Bangla Department of Begum Rokeya University of Rangpur, Dr Tuhin Wadud, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) Prof Abul Kashem Majumder and Saidpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Bazlur Rashid was the special guest of the ceremony. Mayor of Saidpur Municipality Md. Amzad Hossain Sarkar presided over the Program.
Divisional Superintendent (DS) of Saidpur Railway Workshop Mohammad Khudrat-e-Khuda, Syedpur Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land), Parimal Kumar Sarkar, Upazila Education Officer, Shahjahan Mandal, Acting President of Municipal Awami League, Rafiqul Islam Babu, Acting President of Lions School and College, Reazul Islam, the former Chairman of Saidpur Municipality, Alhaj Bakhtiya Kabir and others spoke the grand occasion. Panel Mayor of Saidpur Municipality, Shaheen Akter Shahin and Akmal Sarkar Raju conducted the program
On the occasion, cheques and certificates of scholarship were distributed among 90 students of Primary and Junior scholarship exam held under Saidpur Municipaly. Among them, there are 30 people in Kindergarten section, 30 from primary section and 30 from junior section.
