The Sector Commanders’ Forum ( SCF) in Chittagongon Monday strongly protested Pakistan’s recent statement on the execution of top war criminals Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed.
The leaders of the forum also demanded for stopping Pakistan High Commission to Bangladesh unless the country seeks apology for the audacious comment. Sector Commanders’ Forum came up with the demand in an anti-hartal rally held at city’s New Market Intersection Monday morning.
Addressing the rally, the speakers said Pakistan’s recent comment over the execution of the two top war criminals was totally audacious and the comments are clear manifestation of Pakistan’s spirit of vengeance for its harsh defeat from Bangladesh in 1971 liberation war. After the International Crimes Tribunal executed the top war criminals – Salauddin Quader and Mojaheed on Sunday, Pakistan foreign ministry issued a statement, voicing “deep concern and anguish” over the execution.
The sector commanders’ forum leader alleged that such comment was tantamount to interfering in the sovereignty of Bangladesh and Pakistan’s continuous conspiracies against Bangladesh have become clear to the world through the comment. They also viewed that the Pakistan High Commission in Bangladesh was helping rise of terrorism and militancy in Bangladesh. Forum’s South District Unit president Commander Mohammad Idris presided over the rally while Chittagong City Unit General Secretary (GS) Advocate BK Bishwas conducted it.
Former GS of Chittagong District Bar Association Advocate Iftekhar Saimul Chowdhury, forum’s Chittagong divisional member secretary Bedarul Alam Chowdhury Bedar, city unit president freedom fighter Nurul Alam Montu, North district unit GS Nur-e-Alam Siddiki and South district unit GS Khaleda Akther Chowdhury, among others, addressed the rally.
