UNB, Dhaka :The two-day election to the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) will begin on Tuesday.The voting will begin at 10am and will continue till 5pm with a one-hour break on Wednesday and Thursday.A total of 5,027 voters are expected to cast their votes to elect the 14-member new executive committee of the apex bar for 2016.Like previous year, two panels-Sammilita Ainjibi Samannay Parisad backed by Awami League-led grand alliance (white panel), and Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Oikya Forum backed by BNP-Jamaat alliance (Blue panel) — are in the election race.Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, advisor to Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s advisor advocate Zainul Abedin are vying for the post of president while Azhar Ullah Bhuiya and Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon for the post of secretary. Meanwhile, a seven-member subcommittee, headed by senior lawyer Harunur Rashid, has been formed for conducting the election.
