SCB appoints first female MD

Standard Chartered Bank, Bangladesh, has appointed Nadia Mizan as Managing Director (Chief Risk Officer & Senior Credit Officer) recently.
Prior to this appointment, she has served the Bank as Senior Credit Officer.
Nadia started her professional journey with Standard Chartered in 2001. She has worked in various roles in risk management in Bangladesh and Singapore over the last 18 years. In her Senior Credit Officer (SCO) role for last two and a half years, she led the Risk function for the Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking portfolio. Prior to taking up her SCO role, she was based in Singapore as Senior Credit Manager, managing Singapore, Australia and Philippines credit approvals, while heading risk governance for the Bank’s ASEAN region.
Speaking about the appointment, Naser Ezaz Bijoy, CEO Bangladesh, Standard Chartered said, “I am delighted to welcome Nadia to the country management team of Standard Chartered Bangladesh. She is the first woman leader to take up a Managing Director band role in the Bangladesh franchise.”
“Nadia is a key talent whose leadership skills, passion and tenacity have seen her successfully move from one challenging role to another, both in the country and internationally, as she grew her very successful career with the Bank,” the CEO said.
