The Supreme Court (SC)on Sunday upheld a High Court (HC) order that stayed the Dhaka University authorities’ decision suspending Prof Reazul Haque of Development Studies Department.
A four-member bench of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court passed the order on Sunday after rejecting a petition filed by the university authorities.
Reazul’s lawyers said that now there is no bar for him to join his office.

DU while advocate Kamrul Haque Siddiqui, Abdul Matin Khasru and Jyotirmoy Barua stood for professor Reazul.
On February 27, in a syndicate meeting the DU authorities took a decision to suspend Professor Reazul Haque for allegedly displaying obscene pictures during class.
Later, he was informed about the suspension order on March 7.
He filed a writ petition against the suspension before High Court.
On April 9, Justice Kazi Rezaul Haque and Justice Mohammad Ullah stayed the suspension imposed by DU authority.
Later, the Dhaka University authorities also filed an appeal against the order.
