Tensed situation created again at Barisal Sher-e- Bangla Medical College and Hospital (SBMC)campus and hospital compound over factional rivalry of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), student front of ruling Awami League on Tuesday .
BCL factions led by Imran Hossain and Anup Das, held agitation procession in the campus Wednesday morning demanding immediate action against rival BCL faction leaders Monjurul Islam Rafi and Mostafizur Rahman Tuhin.
Earlier BCL faction leaders Rafi-Tuhin accompanied by outsider BCL activists entering in the SBMCH campus took positions in front of the student hostels gave threatening against rival group at about 8:45 PM Tuesday.
This created panic among the students, doctors and patients.
Rival Imran-Anup group locking hostel and hospital gates including emergency department held agitation procession and rally in the campus at about 9:00 PM Tuesday.
Shariful Islam Suvo, spokesman of agitated BCL activists of SBMC alleged SBMC unit BCL joint conveners Rafi and Tuhin accompanied by more than 50 outsider BCL activists led by BM College unit BCL leader Kazi Milon, entered in the campus with lethal and sharp weapons on Tuesday night.
