Satkhira mango to be exported to Europe this year

In the current season, mangoes in Satkhira will be exported to the European market.

For this, the farmers of Satkhira are passing busy time in the gardens to satisfy the tastes, the quality and the demand of the famous mother.

According to Satkhira District Extension Department, in Satkhira this year, the target of production is 40,960 metric tonnes. For this, the peasants have been working in 5,299 garden residences on four thousand 100 hectares of land.
If everything is okay, then in the current season, mango will be exported to different countries of the world including Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and France.
Asasuni and Tala upazilas have been added to districts with the increase in export of poisonous mango, Satkhira Sadar, Debhata and Kolaroa upazilas. Five hundred farmers of these upazilas have been given special training on exportable mango production.
According to sources, Satkhira soil and weather are quite useful for the production of mango. Mango of this district can be found within 15-20 days . Eating too tasty Therefore, after exporting Rajshahi, Chapai Nawabganj, the export market has got special importance in Satkhira’s Langra, Himasagar and Sapali Mango.

Liaquat Ali, a Mango farmer of Maturpur village of Labsa Union of Satkhira Sadar upazila, said there are mango gardens on his 15 bighas of land. For the purpose of export, Solidaridad network is being produced in complete organic mechanism of Asia and the assistance of the transit of Langar and Himasagar mango.
He further said that four metric tons of mangoes were exported from his garden last season. If there is no natural disaster, he is hoping to export mango even this year.
Mehedi Hasan, Field Organizer of Solidaridad Network Asia and a successful project for the transition, said that in the beginning of the season, training of five hundred farmers in the production of poisonous mango has been provided for the purpose of export and assistance. In addition, in the current season, mangoes have contracted with the new exporting companies. In a few days, farmers will start training on planting and packaging through hot water treatment plants. The Department of Agricultural Extension , the local partner organization and the government are supervising these tasks periodically.
Deputy Director of Satkhira Agriculture Extension Kazi Abdul Mannan said , there is possibility of bumper crop in Satkhira this season. If everything is okay, at the end of this month, Langara, Himasagar, Amrapali and Mallika in Satkhira will be exported to European market.
