The Saraswati Puja, a religious festival of Hindu community was celebrated at central temple on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus on Saturday with much enthusiasm and befitting manner.
A number of Hindu devotees particularly the students of the university went to the Puja Mondap at the early hour of the day and begged the blessings of the Goddess of knowledge and wisdom.
They also held ‘Bani Archana’ at different departments and in their home-yards.
JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Farzana Islam visited the Central Puja Mondop and greeted the Hindu devotees.
The VC expected that the learning of the Puja will be reflected in the life of Hindu community and hoped that they will continue their effort to make the university move forward.
JU Pro-VC Prof Dr. Abul Hossain, Proctor Prof Dr. Tapan Kumar Shaha and President of JU Teachers’ Association Professor Dr. Ajit Kumar Mazumder were present on the occasion, among others.
