Noted film director Syed Salauddin Zaki and Arefin Badol got Fazlul Haque Memorial Awards 2014 in the category of film direction and film journalism respectively at a city hotel yesterday.
Renowned writer Rabeya Khatun who is also Fazlul Haque’s wife is sponsoring the award. Fazlul Haque’s eldest son Faridur Reza Sagor is a prominent children’s writer, TV personality and Managing Director of country’s leading private satellite channel, Channel i.
Noted litterateur Syed Shamsul Haque was also present at the award giving ceremony.
From the year 2004 Fazlul Haque memorial committee is awarding Fazlul Haque memorial award to two personalities every year. This award includes Tk 25 thousand, a certificate and a crest.
Moderated by Muhammad Jahangir noted filmmakers Amzad Hossain, Abu Musa Debu, actor Afzal Hossain, child litterateur Aly Imam, among others, recalled the memories of films in the programme.
Therefore, noted film actress Kobori, eminent writer Emdadul Haque Milon, film director Sohanur Rahman Sohan, among others, also spoke on the occasion.
