SDP Somapto Unnoyan Prokolpa Shikkhak Forum on Sunday formed a human chain in front of the National Press Club demanding salary of the temporary teachers of Government Technical School and Colleges across the country.
The leaders of the forum also urged the government to make the teachers’ jobs permanent and giving all the facilities to the teachers.
Central President of the forum Md Shamsuddin said the 320 teachers of the Government Technical School and Colleges have been appointed under a project. The project was closed on June 30 in 2015. But the teachers have been continuing their service after the verbal direction of the director general of the Directorate of Technical Education. They served for 15 months, but no salary they got.
“We submitted applications to almost all the concern ministries and departments, but no progress we have seen. We urged the government to meet our demands immediately,” he said.
The forum president also threatened for tough movement if the government did not press home their demands.
