Saint Gregory’s High School became champions of the Boys’ Group of the Polar Icecream 23rd School Handball Tournament when they beat Narinda Government High School by 31-23 goals after finishing the first half with a 15-14 goals lead at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Wednesday.
Monir of Narinda Government High School was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Sunnydale finished third when they defeated BISC by 29-15 goals after completing the first session with a 17-11 goals lead at the same venue on the same day.
After the final match, State Minister for Finance MA Mannan, MP distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest while CEO of Dhaka Icecream Industries Limited Shah Masud Imam was with him as the special guest.
President of Bangladesh Handball Federation AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul presided over the prize-giving ceremony.
Vice-President of Bangladesh Handball Federation Quamrun Nahar Dana and General Secretary of the Federation Asaduzzaman Kohinoor were present on the occasion.
