India sailed into the final of the SAFF Suzuki Cup Championship defeating their arch-rivals Pakistan Football team by 3-1 goals in the second semi-final at the flood-lit Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.
After a barren first half, Manbir Singh of India put his team ahead by scoring a goal in the 48th minute of the match.
Manbir Singh doubled the margin scoring another goal in the 70th minute of the play.
Sumit of India made it 3-0 by a spectacular header in the 84th minute of the game.
Hasan Bashir of Pakistan reduced the margin in the 88th minute.
Earlier, Maldives stormed into the final crushing Nepal by three goals to nil in the day’s first semi-final at the same venue.
India will take on Maldives in the final at the same venue on September 15. The gala final match kicks-off at 7.00 pm.
