UNB, Dhaka :
Accusing the ruling party men of having link to human trafficking, BNP on Wednesday urged the government to enact a tough law to try human traffickers and contain the menace.
“No effective and deterrent measure can be taken to check human trafficking under the existing law. We call upon the government to formulate a law in parliament to ensure harsher punishment to those involved in human trafficking,” said BNP spokesman Asaduzzaman Ripon.
Addressing a press briefing at BNP’s Nayapaltan
central office, he opposed the killing of human traffickers in crossfire. “Around five human traffickers have recently been killed in crossfire. Extrajudicial killing is not a solution and it must be stopped. We don’t support any extrajudicial killing.”
