‘Safe migration of jobseekers for enhancing remittance stressed’

Speakers at a media dialogue here on Sunday afternoon stressed for increasing export of human resources ensuring safer migration and upholding their maximum interests abroad to enhance remittance inflow.
They suggested for creating mass awareness, producing skilled workforces by imparting proper trainings and making the migration system easier using the latest information and communication technologies to ensure safer migration of more jobseekers abroad.
They put special emphasis on assisting the overseas jobseekers in getting passports easily in a hassle-free manner everywhere in the country for going abroad without hurdles and being cheated by the section of brokers.
The Welfare Association for the Rights of Bangladeshi Immigrants (WARBI) through its Safe Immigration Information Assistance Centre of Rangpur organised the media dialogue at a local community centre for the local journalists.
Presided over by President of Rangpur City Press Club (RCPC) Sharifuzzaman Bulu, Secretary General of WARBI DF Faruk Ahammed attended the dialogue as the chief guest.
Project Director of WARBI Zachhiya Khatun and its Filed Organiser Monwara Begum also addressed the dialogue as resource persons moderated by WARBI Team Leader Harun-Ar-Rashid.
The resource persons narrated the prevailing loopholes in the process of migration of the overseas job-seekers beginning from the process of getting passports, visa formalities and other problems both at home and abroad.
The speakers discussed the initiatives taken by WARBI and its training and other assistance programmes being conducted to ease the prevailing problems being faced by the overseas jobseekers to ensure safe migration.
The WARBI has been working on the problems with the government to resolve those for increasing exports of skilled human resources ensuring safe migration and upholding their interests abroad to enhance remittance inflow for national uplift.
They put special emphasis on the essence of extending adequate assistance to the overseas jobseeker Bangladeshis to ensure their safer migration and saving them from being cheated by a section of unfair people both at home and aboard.
The chief guest underscored the need for providing more facilities and priority in exporting human resources abroad from Rangpur region to bring the economically backward area into the mainstream national economic standard.
