Sadek Bachchu dies from Coronavirus

Veteran actor Sadek Bachchu passed away at a hospital in the capital yesterday morning at the age of 65. He was Covid-19 positive.
He breathed his last around 12:05pm while being treated at Universal Medical College Hospital in the city’s Mohakhali area. Earlier on Sunday, Sadek Bachchu was put on life-support. He was kept on artificial respiration for last two days, but succumbed to his complications.
The actor was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with fever and breathing troubles on September 8. He tested positive for Covid-19 last Friday.
Sadek Bachchu had been away from acting for quite some times. The real name of the National Film Awards winning actor is Mahbub Ahmed Sadek. He had been known as Sadek Bachchu since gaining fame for his role in the movie Chadni directed by Ehtesham. His acting career started with radio and theatre in 1963. He was introduced in television drama in 1974. His first television drama was Prothom Angeekar. Afterwards, he acted in numerous TV plays, earning recognition.
Bachchu received the National Film Awards for his performance in Ekti Cinemar Golpo in 2018. Besides acting, Sadek Bachchu was also known for writing. His first movie was Ramer Sumoti, directed by Shahidul Amin.
Hailed from Chandpur, Sadek Bachchu was born as Mahbub Ahmed on January 1 in 1955 in Chandpur.
