Sultana Nasima Banu, central Mahila Awami League leader and wife of Dr. SA Malek, former political adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, died on Friday morning. She was 70.
Nasima, who had long been suffering from multi-ailments, breathed her last at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital around 5am, family and hospital sources said.
She left behind husband, two sons, Dr. Sheikh Abdullah Al Mamun, Dr. Sheikh Abdul Majid and two daughters, Nadira Sultana and architect Abni Malek, a host of relatives and admirers to mourn her death.
Her namaz-e-janaza will be held at Bashiruddin Road Mosque at Kalabagan after Jumma prayer.
