A two-member delegation, led by Dr Aleksey D Ponomarenko, head of International Affairs of Rosatom State Cooperation Company of Russia, met Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at the latter’s office of the university on Monday.
Other member of the delegation was Alexander P Demin, Director of the Russian Centre of Science & Culture in Dhaka. Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of DU Prof Dr Rafiqul Islam, Chairman of the Department of Nuclear Engineering Prof Dr Khorshed Ahmed Kabir and Associate Prof Dr M Safiqul Islam were present on this occasion.
During the meeting, they discussed possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs between the University of Dhaka and the higher educational institutions in Russia.
The team leader assured the VC that they will provide scholarship to DU students for higher education and research on nuclear engineering in Russian universities.
They will also arrange special training programs on nuclear science and engineering for DU young teachers and scholars in Russia.
