Alexey D Ponomarenko, head of Project Office for International Programmes of Rosatom Corporate Academy of Rosatom State Corporation Company, on Wednesday called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at the latter’s office of the university. First Secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bangladesh and Director of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Dhaka, Alexander P Demin and retired DU Prof Dr Khorshed Ahmad Kabir of the Department of Nuclear Engineering, were present, among others,on the occasion. During the meeting, they discussed matters of bilateral issues specially various components of arrangements of scholarships for DU students to study Undergraduate and Graduate Programmes in Russia under the financial assistance of Russian Government in the field of Nuclear Engineering and Atomic Energy. They also talked about participation of DU faculty members in a workshop to be held in coming September in Russia through joint collaboration.
Prof Arefin Siddique thanked the delegation for their visit to and support in academic activities of the Dhaka University.
