Fakhrul, Tarique among 12 sued for threatening PM with life

A case has been filed against 12 BNP leaders, including acting chief Tarique Rahman and Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir for threatening the Prime Minister.
Bangladesh Jananetri Parishad President AB Siddiqui lodged the case with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
According to the case documents, on December 6, Siddiqui was stopped by BNP activists near Shah Ali Market in Mirpur and threatened.
They reportedly told Siddiqui if the cases against BNP chief Khaleda Zia and party leaders and activists were not withdrawn, “Sheikh Hasina and others will be killed.”
The other accused are BNP chief’s advisor Shamsuzzaman Dudu, Standing Committee members Mosharraf Hossain, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Dhaka Metropolitan north unit Vice Chairman Rabiul Awal Sohel, Jamaat-e-Islami leaders Afzal Hossain, Mujibur Rahman, Abdul Karim, Hafez Didarul Islam, Aminul Haque Babu and Faruk Ahmed.
