Premier Football: Russell KC manage 1-0 victory over MSC

Sheikh Russell KC managed 1-0 goal victory over Dhaka Mohammedan SC in the last 2nd phase match of the Nitol-Tata Bangladesh Premier Football League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
Medio Mithun Chowdhury scored the match-winning goal for Sheikh Russell KC during the injury time.
In the first phase league, Sheikh Russell KC drew one-all with Dhaka Mohammedan SC.
After the day’s match, Dhaka Mohammedan SC remained at the 3rd place in the league table with 32 points from 18 matches while Sheikh Russell KC were in the distant 6th slot securing 24 points from all the 18 matches.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club comfortably dominated the league table securing 42 points while Abahani Limited followed them with 34 points, playing 18 matches each.
In the day’s match, Mohammedan SC came close to score in the 59th minute but Burkina Faso forward Zongo Ousseni’s left footer went wide from the box, off a long pass of Nigerian mid-fielder Demian Chigozie.
Substitute midfielder Towhidul Alam Sabuj squandered another chance for Mohammedan SC in the 79th minute. Midfielder Mezbabul Haque Manik sent a square pass to unmarked Sabuj, who failed to score in one-to -one situation with Russell KC goalie Biplob in the front and sent the ball straight to goalie.
Cameroonian defender Baybeck of Mohammedan was sent off in the 80th minute by referee Azad Rahman showing double yellow card in the match.
Custodian Biplob saved Russell KC again from conceding goal in the 88th minute. A header of striker Zahid Hasan Emily, off a Sabuj cross from the right flank, was nicely fisted by goalie Biplob.
However, forward Mithun Chowdury broke the deadlock and scored the match-winning goal for Russell KC in the injury time (1-0).
