Enamul Haque (Junior) takes 5/ 41: Rupganj Tigers overcome Mohammedan in DPL

Rupganj Tigers overcame Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited by seven wickets in their match of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Saturday.
Chasing Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club’s total of 143 off 38.1 overs, Rupganj Tigers romped home making 149 for the loss of three wickets when they had 82 balls to spare.
Mahmudullah Riyad of Mohammedan Sporting Club hit a polished 48. He hit two fours and two sixes in his 52-ball innings.
Opener Rony Talukdar and second-down Rubel Mia added 24 and 23 runs respectively to the Mohammedan total.
Left-arm spinner Enamul Haque (Junior) of Rupganj Tigers claimed five wickets in the space of 41 runs. Enamul Haque (Junior) was adjudged the Man of the Match for his match-winning bowling performance.
Mukidul Islam grabbed three wickets at the cost of 28 runs, while Nasum Ahmed and Sharifullah took one wicket each for 18 and 24 runs respectively.
Rupganj Tigers had a shaky start as opener Mizanur Rahman (9) was dismissed by Yeasin Arafat when Rupganj’s score was just nine runs.
After Mizanur Rahman’s departure, opener Zakir Hasan and one-down Asif Ahmed repaired the damage adding together 37 runs in the second wicket stand before Zakir Hasan was dismissed by Mohammad Hafeez when Rupganj’s total was 46 for the loss of two wickets.
After Zakir Hasan’s dismissal, Asif Ahmed and Fazle Mahmud rescued their team from danger contributing together 84 runs for the third wicket partnership before Asif Ahmed was caught by Mohammad Hafeez off Yeasin Arafat when Rupganj’s score was 130 for the loss of three wickets.
Asif Ahmed notched up a sparkle 48. His 92-ball innings was belted with five fours and a sixer.
After Asif’s departure, Fazle Mahmud and Saad Nasim guided their team to reach the victory target.
Fazle Mahmud remained unbeaten with 39 runs. He hit three fours in his 73-ball innings.
Zakir Hasan and Saad Nasim added 24 and 16 runs to the Rupganj total.
Yeasin Arafat bagged two wickets conceding 33 runs, while Mohammad Hafeez picked up one wicket for 23 runs.
