Women's Cricket: Rupali Bank beat Abahani Ltd by 15 runs

Rupali Bank Krira Parishad beat Abahani Limited by 15 runs in the Dhaka Premier Division Women’s Cricket Super League at the BKSP ground-4 in Savar on Wednesday.
The bankers’ team batted first after winning the toss and scored 170 runs for 9 in stipulated 50 overs, featuring 79 runs by Sharmin Sultana and Jesia Akhter in the opening stand.
Jesia Akhter scored the team highest 45 runs off 50 balls hitting seven fours and a six, Sharmin Akhter made 90-ball 43 runs with four boundaries, Lata Mondal scored 41-ball 16 runs including two fours while Sathira Jakir contributed 22-ball 11 runs with one four.
Abahani captain Jahanara Alam grabbed four wickets conceding 26 runs, Suborna Islam claimed two wickets for 26 runs while Yamin Rupa took one for 35 runs.
In reply, Abahani Limited were all out for 155 runs in 48.2 overs, despite an all-round performance by skipper Jahanara Alam.
Number five Jahanara Alam, who grabbed four wickets, contributed the match highest 49 runs off 78 balls featuring four boundaries and was adjudged the player of the match, despite her team lost the match.
Mihiri Madushari with 52-ball 39 runs featuring four fours and one down Shaila Sharmin with 53-ball 27 runs including two fours were the other major contributors for Abahani reaching the double figures while another 14 runs of the innings came from extras.
Farzana Haque and Sathira Jakir took two wickets each giving away 26 and 35 runs respectively.
