Metropolitan Women's Cricket League: Rumana guides Mohammedan to clinch title

A superb century by Rumana Ahmed guided Mohammedan Sporting Club to clinch the title of the Metropolitan Women’s Cricket League defeating their arch rivals Abahani Limited by 77 runs in the final at the Shar-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday.
Rumana Ahmed hit an exact 100 from 91 balls featuring 15 boundaries. Rumana was adjudged the Player of the Match for her outstanding batting performance.
Sent into bat first, Mohammedan Sporting Club made a fighting 204 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 40 overs and then they restricted Abahani Limited to 127 for the loss of seven wickets in 40 overs.
Tazia Akhter of Mohammedan Sporting Club scored 20 off 37 balls with two shots through the ropes.
Besides, Mrs Extra contributed 35 runs to the Mohammedan total.
Jahanara Alam of Abahani Limited grabbed three wickets at the cost of 34 runs while Khadizatul Kubra and Lata Mondol got one wicket each for 25 and 38 runs respectively.
Later, Lata Mondol hit a polished 54 from 78 balls including five boundaries while Sharmin Akter scored 22 off 42 balls.
Skipper Salma Khatun and Eti Mondol of Mohammedan Sporting Club captured three wickets each instead of 18 and 32 runs respectively.
Besides, Sathira Jakir took one wicket for 22 runs.
