Ruman Shana lose to Crispin in Archery

Ruman Shana of Bangladesh lost to Duenas Crispin of Canada by 6-4 points in the Recurve Men’s Individual Event of the Archery Competition (Round of 16) of the Tokyo Olympics in Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday. Ruman Shana beat Crispin 26-25 in the first set. He lost to his Canadian opponent 25-28 in the second set. He lost to Crispin 27-29 in the third set. Shana beat Crispin 27-26 in the fourth set. But he lost to Crispin 25-26 in the fifth set.
Earlier, Ruman Shana defeated Tom Hall of Great Britain by 7-3 points in the Elimination Round (Round of 32) at the same venue on the same day.
Shana leveled the first set with Tom Hall 28-28. He beat Tom 27-25 in the second set. He defeated Hall 27-26 in the third set. He lost to Tom 25-27 in the fourth set. He defeated his English opponent 29-27 in the fifth set.
Ruman Shana fulfilled the expectation of Bangladesh after beating his opponent in the first round in an Olympics, which is called ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’.
It may be mentioned that Ruman Shana qualified directly in the Tokyo Olympics.
After the competition, Ruman Shana said, ” I don’t give any excuse. My Canadian opponent moved into the next round after showing his best performance.”
On the other hand, Coach of Bangladesh Archery Federation Martin Frederick said, ” Today’s weather was different. Ruman showed outstanding performance against the wind.”
Ruman Shana’s compatriot Diya Siddique will compete in the Recurve Women’s Individual Event (Round of 32) of Archery Competition of the Tokyo Olympics tomorrow (Thursday). Her opponent is Karyna Dziominskaya of Belarus.
