The body of a student was found in the pond of Nabab Abdul Latif Hall at Rajshahi University (RU) on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Motaleb Hossain Lipu, 22, a 3rd year student of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of the university. He lived in room no. 203 of the hall.
Deputy Commissioner (East) of Rajshahi
Metropolitan Police (RMP) Ameer Zafar said workers of the hall found the body of Lipu floating in the pond around 9:30pm and informed the RU authority.
Police recovered the body from the pond and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.
