Authority of Rajshahi University on Tuesday received Tk 25 lakh from Shaheed Kamruzzaman and Zahanara Zaman Foundation for providing scholarship among the meritorious and underprivileged students of the university.
AHM Khairuzzamn Liton, Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation in a function at Senate Bhaban of RU handed over the scholarship cheque to the university Vice Chancellor Prof M Abdus Sobhan.
Speaking at the function, Mayor Liton said that meritorious and destitute students will be benefited getting the facilities of this scholarship. In future, the scholarship facilities would be given to more of students.
Mentioning facilities of the scholarship, the city Awami League senior vice president Shahin Aktar Reni said, “We should be work for developing of the country and its nations.”
RU VC Sobhan said, Kamruzzaman is one of the renowned leaders. To acquire independence of the country, he kept a significant contribution. People always remembered him and his good works.
Conducted by RU acting Registrar Prof MA Bari, Pro Vice Chancellors Prof Ananda Kumar Saha and Prof Chowdhury M Zakaria, Proctor Prof Lutfar Rahman, students, AL leaders and activists were present at the function, among others.
