M Anisur Rahman, former Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University (RU) and a retired Professor of Botany department, died on Saturday morning at Houston, in the USA.
He was 75.
Prof Anisur left behind his wife, three sons and a daughter to mourn his death. He was buried at the family graveyard in the USA. Prof Rahman started his teaching career at RU in 1966 and retired in the year 2004. He made an excellent performance during his services at the university.
He was the Vice-Chancellor of the university from 1992 to 1994. He also served the university as faculty dean, hall provost and as member of the senate.
RU Vice-Chancellor Prof Muhammad Mizanuddin and Pro-VC Prof Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan expressed their deep shock at his death.
