Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Friday afternoon expelled its general secretary of Rajshahi University (RU) unit SM Touhid Al Hossain Tuhin from party activities for beating up the university chief engineer on Thursday noon.
At the same time, Khaled Hasan Biplob, joint secretary of the running committee has been made acting general secretary of BCL RU unit, confirmed BCL central committee office secretary Sheikh Rasel yesterday.
He said, Tuhin has been expelled from organization for his anti-party activities in different times on campus.
Khaled Hasan Biplob, who was joint secretary of the running committee has been made acting general secretary, he added.
The newly made acting general secretary Biplob, son of Md Helal Uddin, is a MBA student of Management Studies department of the university hailed from Kazla, nearly the campus.
Meanwhile, on Thursday noon, expelled general secretary Tuhin along with BCL RU unit vice president Tonmoy Ananda Ovi beat up the university chief engineer Sirajum Munir as he refused to pay Tk. 1 lakh as toll demanded by BCL leaders.
But no action has been taken against another responsible leader Tonmoy Ananda Ovi who was in leading the attack.
