UNB, Dhaka :Accusing the government of allowing militants and terrorists to raise their heads by weakening democratic forces, BNP senior leader Moudud Ahmed on Saturday alleged the regime has chosen a dangerous path to get international support and hang onto power.”Some derailed people and extremists are trying to create an anarchic situationin the country taking advantage of the government’s move to destroy democratic forces. A scope of terrorism and militancy has been created for lack of democratic forces,” he told a discussion.Moudud, a BNP standing committee member, further said, “We think the government has deliberately resorted to the dangerous path to get international community’s support and perpetuate its power.”BNP arranged the discussion at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh marking the National Revolution and Solidarity Day.Speaking at the programme as the chief guest, Moudud said BNP is a moderate democratic party which believes in transfer of power in a peaceful manner.
