DRU Media Football: RTV emerge champions beating Channel 24

RTV clinched the Walton-DRU Media Football title beating Channel 24 by 3-1 goals in the tie breaker as the final match between two teams was locked in 2-2 goals in the stipulated time at the Shaheed Captain (retd) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium here on Sunday.
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud was the chief guest in the final and later he distributed the champions trophy to RTV and runners up trophy to Channel 24.
Executive Director of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar, President of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) Elias Hossain, General Secretary of DRU Kabir Ahmed Khan and Sport Secretary of DRU Shafiqul Islam Shamim were also present on the occasion.
In the schedule time, Masud Mustahid scored twice for Rtv in the first half (2-0) but Maksud-un-Nabi and Sadman Shakib scored one goal each in the 2nd half to level the match for Channel 24 (2-2) leading the match towards tie-breaking session.
In the tie breaker, Shariat Khan, Masud Mustahid, Sharifuddin Limon scored for Rtv while Hasan Shuvo netted the lone goal for Channel 24.
RTV goal-keeper Shariat Khan was adjudged the man of the final as he scored a goal from penalty shootout and later he saved goal as custodian.
Rahul Roy of Channel 1 named as the highest scorer netting five goals, Sadman Shakib of the meet’s runners-up Channel 24 was adjudged the player of the tournament while Barta 24 named as the most disciplined team to receive the “fair play trophy.”
