Rozina recalls her lost colourful days…

Once ‘dream girl’ of Dhaka’s movies Rozina is not regular in big screen now. She was last seen to work on the screen in Matin Rahman’s movie Rakkhushi against Ferdous in 2004. Later she didn’t see to act in any movie. But she often gets offer to work in big screen. Sometimes she is seen to work either in TV play or telefilm. Not under others’ direction she most of the time works in small screen under own direction. This year she did not give any direction. But viewers want to know about her. How she became today’s Rozina – present viewers in fact want to inform her life stories.
To keep in mind the viewers’ interest, Banglavision has made a special programme to focus on Rozina titled Nana Ronger Dinguli. It is an autobiography based programme. While sharing and discussing with the host of the programme Rozina will visit her favourite places those were significant in her life so far. Senior producer Mamun Khan has produced the show which will be aired on Banglavision on October 16 at 6:30pm, Rozina said.
While talking about her episode Rozina told this correspondent, “I have really enjoyed taking part in such an episode of a programme. It is really something different. I felt well to present own information to the viewers by this programme. I hope viewers will enjoy the programme.”
In the beginning of her career acting in several numbers of films, Rozina was selected to cast against Wasim in F Kabir Chowdhury’s Rajmohol in 1977. After completing its shooting, it was released in 1978. After becoming super hit, Rozina came into limelight. She first got the National Film Award through Amzad Hossain’s Kosai.
Later she again got the awards for Matin Rahman’s Jibondhara and Kabir Anwar’s Dinkal. She got the Pakistan’s Nigar Award in 1986 to act in co-production movie with Pakistan titled Hum Se Hai Zamana. Then Pakistan’s popular hero Nadim worked against her in the movie.
Therefore, Rozina also worked in co-production movies with Nepal and Sri Lanka. In 1984, she worked popular Indian superstar Mithun Chakraborty in movie Abichar. Syed Hasan Imam and Shakti Samonto were co-directors of this movie. For the time being in 1990 she became an actress of 250 movies. During that time she decided not to work more.
After returning Bangladesh she last worked in Matin Rahman’s movie Rakkhushi in 2004. In 1989, she lost her mother and in 2001, lost her father.
