Route to Central Shahid Minar on 21st February

The Dhaka University authorities have given instructions of the entrance to the Shaheed Minar and routemap for travel on the occasion of International Mother Language Day on February 21.
In a press briefing in the Professor Abdul Matin Chowdhury Virtual Classroom, the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman gave these instructions on February 18.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Akhtaruzzaman said that in order to avoid public gatherings in the current Corona epidemic situation maximum five people from an organisation and personally maximum two people will be able to enter Shaheed Minar together. In this case, everyone must follow proper hygiene rules and wear a mask and maintain social distance.
He said that all those who will come for the purpose of paying homage at there are requested to keep the Corona Vaccine Certificate.
The Vice-Chancellor further said that to ensure social distance, the road from Palashi junction to Shaheed Minar will have three feet consecutive signs. Following this sign, everyone will go to the Shaheed Minar. In this case, the routemap has to be followed properly.
In the press briefing, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Muhammad Samad, Treasurer Prof. Mumtaz Uddin Ahmed, Coordinator of Amar Ekushey Celebration Central Coordinating Committee and President of Dhaka University Teachers Association Prof. Dr. Md. Rahmat Ullah, Joint-Coordinator and Vice-President of the Teachers’ Association, Prof. Sabita Rizwana Rahman, Joint-Coordinator and General Secretary of the Teachers’ Association, Prof. Md. Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan and Proctor Professor AKM Golam Rabbani was present.
In connection with the celebration of Great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day-2022 in a fair, peaceful and orderly manner with due dignity and solemnity, the concerned ministries, city corporations, political parties, organisations, media personnel and various law enforcement agencies have been working hard.
In addition, volunteers at various entrances will conduct campaigns with hand mike to follow hygiene rules and maintain social distance. They will also monitor compliance with hygiene rules. The Vice-Chancellor wants also the cooperation of the media in creating public awareness.
